Frequently Asked Questions

Questions? We're Here to Help.

Find answers about eligibility, medical evaluations, prescriptions, laboratory testing, shipping, and ongoing care.

How does Prolong Health work?

Select a service and complete the initial form. You will then continue to a secure medical intake. A licensed provider reviews your information and determines whether the selected service is appropriate.

Is a prescription guaranteed?

No. Completing an intake does not guarantee a prescription. Eligibility and prescribing decisions are determined by a licensed healthcare provider following a medical evaluation.

Do I need laboratory testing?

Testing may be required depending on the treatment, your medical history, and the provider's clinical judgment. Instructions will be provided when laboratory testing is necessary.

How are prescriptions fulfilled?

If prescribed, your prescription is sent to a participating licensed pharmacy. Medication availability, formulations, shipping times, and pharmacy coverage vary.

Are compounded medications FDA-approved?

Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. When clinically appropriate, a licensed provider may prescribe a compounded medication prepared by a qualified pharmacy.

Is care available in every state?

Most Prolong Health telehealth programs are available in all 50 states and D.C. Testosterone therapy is the exception — it is currently available in a limited set of states (listed on the Men's Health page), while enclomiphene is available in all 50 states and D.C. Availability of a specific medication can also vary by pharmacy coverage and state regulations, and is confirmed during your intake.

How much does treatment cost through Prolong Health?

Pricing varies by treatment and is listed on each treatment page. Most programs are billed on 4-, 12- or 24-week plans, and longer plans cost less per month. Prolong Health is cash-pay — there are no insurance claims to file — and prices include your provider review and, if prescribed, your medication.

Do you accept insurance?

Prolong Health is cash-pay and does not bill insurance. We do accept FSA and HSA cards, as well as Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. We do not accept American Express.

How is Prolong Health different from other online telehealth clinics?

Every patient is reviewed by a licensed provider following a real medical evaluation — nothing is prescribed automatically. Prolong Health also offers in-home IV therapy in the Tampa Bay area alongside its nationwide telehealth programs.

How long does the medical evaluation take?

The initial intake typically takes a few minutes to complete online. Provider review times vary, but most patients hear back within one to two business days.

Is compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide safe?

Compounded GLP-1 medications are prepared by licensed compounding pharmacies and prescribed only when a licensed provider determines it's clinically appropriate for you. As with any prescription medication, safety depends on accurate medical history, proper dosing, and provider oversight — which is why every patient goes through a real evaluation first.

How long before I notice results from testosterone therapy?

Response to testosterone therapy varies by individual. Some patients report changes in energy or mood within a few weeks, while other effects can take several months. Your provider will monitor your progress and adjust your plan as needed.

Can I cancel or pause treatment at any time?

Yes. You're not locked into a long-term contract. Reach out to our team to pause, adjust, or cancel an ongoing treatment plan.

Is IV therapy safe if I'm not dehydrated?

IV therapy is administered by licensed, insured registered nurses who assess each patient before treatment. Formulations vary by goal (hydration, recovery, immune support, and more), and your nurse will confirm a treatment is appropriate for you before starting.

What areas does in-home IV therapy serve?

In-home IV therapy is currently available in the Tampa Bay, Florida area. Telehealth treatments — weight management, hormone therapy, sexual health, hair restoration, longevity, and peptide therapy — are available nationwide, though testosterone therapy is limited to certain states and availability of a specific medication can vary by state and pharmacy coverage.
