What NAD+ Actually Is
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme every cell in your body uses for energy metabolism. It works inside your mitochondria — the part of the cell responsible for producing energy — where it plays a central role in the electron transport chain and ATP production.[1] Research on whether NAD+ levels decline with age is more nuanced than often claimed: several studies show tissue-specific declines (notably in blood and brain), while the picture across the body as a whole is still being studied.[2] Interest in NAD+ has grown alongside broader interest in mitochondrial health and longevity.
NAD+ therapy delivers it directly via injection, rather than through oral supplements.
